INTRODUCTION TO JOHN EDWARDS ON THIS WORDPRESS SITE

John has been resident on the Costa Blanca, Alicante, Spain since 2006. It’s a terrific lifestyle that gives him time to write.and explore. Wildlife, particularly avian species, is his passion.

A poet and story writer since 2006 and he wants this blog to showcase the poetry and story telling.

It is his intention to encompass not just the environmental situation but thoughts stimulated by current events. His objective is to write with responsibility and to protest when he feels he can make a difference.

The later poems are his protest about habitat loss, wildlife destruction and inadequate laws and

penalties. He throws into that the environmental issues that we face. He becomes infuriated at the senseless waste of plastic wrapped food by the all powerful supermarkets. Also plastic containers

that when used are discarded and not disposed of in a planet friendly way.

He writes in the hope there is something unique about his writing. If any of his words can

influence the way we live, respect each other and the planet then he feels he has achieved

something. Words that can sit comfortably beside other creative people.

His latest collection on wildlife crime and environmental issues is partly complete and coupled with artistic impressions extracted from some of his poems he intends it to be a beautiful book.

That an artist can create an image from a single line thrills him. There is one important matter for him is that it should reflect the beauty of our world. He attempts in his writing to counter balance what is not good in the natural world.

He claims to write with passion and emotion.

Since 2006 he has led a local group writers, to help and encourage each other through positive and honest feedback. His connections with the Poetry Society in London, Ledbury Poetry Festival and every opportunity ‘on-line’ has brought him to this point in his life. His poems on themes created by Ledbury are on their website. He has experience of ‘open mics’ and thinks it is time to arrange more.

BOOK REVIEW – BAD APPLES BY WILL DEAN

‘Wow’ and what a read from start to finish. Will Dean has excelled himself with this story set in Sweden’s forestlands.

This is the fourth in the series where Tuva’s journalism takes her to some very special places. If you pick ‘Bad Apples’ from off the rack then don’t put it back but buy the three previous ones as well.. Will Dean started Tuva’s journey with ‘Dark Pines’, then came ‘Red Snow’ and ‘Black River’ which takes the reader through the frightening forests of pines and into and out of some very dark, traumatic and unworldly places. He introduces characters in ‘Dark Pines’ and they crop up again with the three books that followed. It makes sense really to meet them and to try and figure out who they are and why they are here and are they real?

It is set initially in a place called Gavrik where Tuva works for their local paper, but the way these stories are told I think the reverse is true and added to that she has a strong bond with the Police Department. It all helps and keeps this one moving fast and furious. She is now deputy editor and she covers Visberg. Simply referred to as a hill town. In my mind it’s on the edge of everywhere and nowhere! A strange place with strange people, but I won’t spoil it for they will introduce themselves when you read it.

There is no way I would give any of the plot away and there are three pages of plaudits if you don’t take my word for this one is a must read. Thriller as proclaimed on the cover and one that can take one beyond the edge of reason! It is excellent. I suspect there will be more to follow in the life of Tuva Moodyson
